Science and Math Tutoring with Julie Grantier

High school and college level science and math tutoring available from an experienced instructor.  Subjects available include physics, physical science, chemistry, earth science, computer science, algebra, trigometry,
calculus, and statistics.  I can also work with students to prepare for AP tests or SAT subject tests in those areas.

Latin tutoring available at all levels for individuals or small groups from an experienced instructor. I can either work with individuals using the materials you choose at your student's own pace, or I can help you select a text and design a course suited to your individual student or small group.

Reading and Spelling Tutoring with Lei Rhyne

I am accepting new students for tutoring in reading and spelling. I have been trained in the Orton Gillingham Method and I will be trained in Lindamood Bell this spring. I have an office in Alpharetta where I am available Thursday afternoons or in my home in Cumming on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Curriculum / Text (if available) : All beginning students start with Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book 1. Students also receive supplemental materials written by the instructor.

All students can expect to learn the proper techniques and form for playing the guitar. Also our lessons will cover:

• Harmony (Chords)

• Improvising

Charlie received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Recording Industry Management from Middle Tennessee State University. With extensive knowledge and experience in music recording, Charlie also specializes in many instruments; most notably percussion, and violin.

His drum performance credits include over ten performing groups, some of which are now signed by major independent labels. His violin performance credits include: The MTSU Symphony Orchestra, The Chattanooga Youth Symphony, and was the Concert Master for the Chattanooga School For The Arts and Sciences.

He has instructed over 150 students and over 2000 lessons over the past 5 years, both children and adults, in multiple styles of drum and violin performance.

I am a board certified teacher with Georgia Professional Standards Commission educator. I have 12 years experience in education. I am one of the first teachers to have reintroduced Spanish in Elementary school with Fulton County. I have taught also high school and university level Spanish and Italian.

I am a native of Italy and have obtained my bachelor of Arts with Music Major at Emory University and done study work in Education at Kennesaw University. I have also obtained a Masters Degree in Spanish Culture and Education from La Universidad De Salamanca, Spain.

I am also an accomplished soprano and dancer.

Tutor Biography : I have been teaching and tutoring for over 20 years - and have experience working with gifted students as well as those with ADD, dyslexia and Asperger Syndrome. I love the challenge of figuring out where a student "is at" and how to meet them there to achieve learning success. I know that living with differently abled learners is a "family affair" and am available for consultations and support to help families succeed.

I hold graduate credits from the APA in gifted education, including coursework in differentiating giftedness from overlapping learning disabilities, and am a recognized SENG professional. (www.sengifted.org -Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted). I am also trained in the Orton Gillingham Method for dyslexia instruction. My M.Ed. is in instructional technology leadership and my B.A. is in economics. I also hold permanent NJ teaching certification.
